Project Overview
The company aims to build a culture of trust, reduce bureaucracy, and maintain a strong human-centered approach. At AlfaStrakhovanie, the focus is on developing and delivering complex insurance products, which requires a high level of expertise and strong team cohesion.
The company’s structure is complex, bringing together multiple business units working with different types of clients — from call center operations and field work to corporate services.
Previously, the teams were spread across several separate buildings within a former industrial enterprise. This limited interaction between departments and reduced overall efficiency. Bringing all teams together under one roof became a natural step toward strengthening company culture and improving business processes.
Spatial Organization
The office design began before the building was completed, allowing architectural and façade elements to be fully integrated into the overall concept.
The key idea is a synergy between the workspace and a natural park environment, inspired by the nearby Tyufeleva Roshcha. This is reflected in the use of natural colors, stylized “trees” along the main façade, and interactive elements throughout the space.
During the planning process, the architects proposed reconfiguring one of the floors by utilizing double-height spaces. This resulted in distinctive structural fragments known as “ship bows”.
The project began with a detailed analysis of the company’s needs, including presentations on best practices and discussions of workplace trends — such as the potential shift to unassigned desks.
Interviews were conducted with 35 departments, and three workplace strategies were developed, exploring different scenarios for desk allocation and meeting room distribution.
Key words defining the future office were: comfortable, welcoming, functional, and calm. The research also showed that the average employee age is between 30 and 40.
Special attention was given to the IT department, which has been growing rapidly, has a younger team, and shows a higher level of readiness for hybrid and remote work formats.
The ground floor includes the main reception, front-office area (product sales), waiting zone, and cafeteria.
The second floor features a conference hall, dining area, and archive spaces.
The third and eighth floors accommodate more private departments requiring confidentiality and a corridor-based layout.
Floors 4–7 and 9–13 are organized as open-plan workspaces with a mix of assigned and unassigned desks.
The fourteenth floor is a multifunctional IT space, where most workstations are unassigned.
This level also features two double-height atriums (“ship bows”) and an amphitheater-style meeting space.
The fifteenth floor is dedicated to top management, including executive offices, assistant areas, a boardroom, and several meeting rooms.
Design Concept
The interior reflects the company’s core values: innovation, functionality, attention to detail, and care for employees. This is expressed through ergonomic solutions, generous access to natural light, acoustic and climate comfort, well-designed restrooms, numerous coffee points, and a variety of quiet rooms for focused work.
Special attention is given to acoustic comfort and spatial logic. For example, representative areas and the entire fifteenth floor incorporate acoustic покрытия behind suspended ceilings.
Lighting
Lighting plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere.
On the ground floor, alongside the illuminated “trees” along the façade, the elevator lobby features a large-scale light installation composed of around 1,000 individual elements. Set against a warm background, they resemble fireflies and guide visitors into the office.
The double-height atrium on the fourteenth floor is accented with decorative fixtures reminiscent of dandelions, suspended on thin cables and appearing to float above the city.
On the second floor, in the dining and cafeteria areas, lightboxes with images of plants and landscapes are integrated into the walls.
The cafeteria features a mix of decorative lighting, while the dining area includes arches with mirrors and integrated backlighting.
Technology and Materials
Meeting rooms are equipped with booking tablets and modern TV panels. Lockers operate via access cards, and entry to the building is managed through cards and barcodes. The office also includes smart video surveillance and parking systems.
The project was designed in accordance with the CLEVER green building certification standard.
